Local marketing

Local Marketing

Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and email — the unglamorous work that decides who shows up in the map pack.

Google Business Profile

Your Google Business Profile is what shows up when someone searches your business by name, and it’s what feeds the map pack when they search for what you do. It carries your hours, services, photos, reviews and posts — and Google gives it more real estate every year.

Google also updates it constantly and supports it poorly. That’s where we come in:

  • Setup and optimization. We create or claim your profile and fill it out completely: the right categories, accurate name, address and phone, hours, service list and service area, logo and photos.
  • Ongoing accuracy. Hours change, services change, Google “suggests” edits you didn’t ask for. We keep the listing current and catch unwanted changes.
  • Posts. Periodic updates — offers, seasonal services, news — that appear with your listing in search.
  • Reviews. Monitoring, responses, and the collection process below.
  • Photos. Good photos matter more than most owners expect. We’ll tell you what to shoot, or connect you with a local photographer.

Reviews

A steady stream of recent, positive reviews helps you rank in the map pack and helps you win the comparison when a customer is choosing between you and two competitors.

  • Collection. A simple, repeatable process for asking — at the moment the customer is happiest — so reviews come in every month, not in bursts.
  • Monitoring and alerts. We track reviews across Google, Facebook, Yelp and the platforms that matter in your industry, and let you know when a new one lands so you can respond while it’s fresh.
  • Negative reviews. They’ll come. We’ll help you respond with tact, and we’ll flag the ones that violate platform rules.
  • Reporting. Reviews show up in your monthly report alongside your leads.

Citations and NAP consistency

Citations are listings of your business on other websites — local directories, industry sites, Facebook, Yelp, Apple Maps. Google cross-checks them. If your phone number on Facebook doesn’t match your Google listing, that’s a red flag, and confused data makes Google less likely to rank you.

We submit your business to the directories that matter, fix the listings that already exist, and monitor them so your name, address and phone number stay identical everywhere.

Customer email

Newsletters are one of the best sources of repeat business and referrals you already have — the customers who’ve paid you once. The key is leading with something worth reading: seasonal tips, what to watch for, what’s changed in your industry. One focused offer, after the value, not instead of it.

We write it, you approve it, it goes out on a cadence your customers won’t resent. If your list is big enough, we segment it so people get what’s relevant to them.

Frequently asked questions

What's the map pack?

The block of three businesses with a map that Google shows for local searches like 'dentist near me'. Getting into it depends on your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your citations and how close you are to the searcher — not on your website alone.

Can you get reviews removed?

Sometimes. Reviews that violate a platform's rules — spam, competitors, people who were never customers — can be flagged and are sometimes removed. Honest negative reviews stay, and the right move is a calm, factual response.

Do you write fake reviews or buy them?

No. Fake reviews violate Google's terms, and Google has gotten good at catching them. We build a process that gets real reviews from real customers, consistently.

Is local marketing included in your other services?

Usually, yes. Most clients get Google Business Profile, reviews and citations as part of an overall engagement with Google Ads and SEO. It can also stand alone.
